Elastic, and Masks, and Pandemic, Oh My!

Y'all, life is crazy!!

Hey - it's Mona here. I know that what I just said doesn't really surprise anyone. Since I last blogged, the world has fallen deeply into the Coronavirus pandemic hole.... the world as we know it shut down, small business are in trouble, people are making masks, sewists are being born or are dusting off their sewing machines... Businesses are starting to open back up. Everyone is being affected by this differently.

I have been making so many masks. I think I've made around 300 so far. I'm taking a break to catch up on other work. I'm sure that I'll be making more in the future!

However you feel about the current state of affairs, I wanted to share some updates about what's going on with Kentucky Whittaker Creations and Bluegrass Stitches.

Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.

A little over a year ago, I was able to quit my job and start working as owner of Bluegrass Stitches full time. I make t-shirt and memory quilts. I do longarm quilting. I have just recently added retail sales. In an effort to make everything more cohesive, I started a retail website, Bluegrass Stitches - I currently have elastic for sale and some fabric for sale (I will have some University of Kentucky fabric for sale!).  I will be adding more items as well as information about longarm quilting services, t-shirt quilt pricing, and more!

I will continue to blog here. I may refer you to my retail site. I will try to post deals (such as the 60% off one item at Bluprint this weekend). I will share about sew-alongs that I'm participating in.  This site will be about the creative side of my life!

Thank you for reading along!

Until next time - blessings & peace - and happy crafting!

  1. Just found this site/store. Love what I'm seeing and reading thus far
. Just purchased UK fabric plus elastic. Been making masks for my neighborhood for a month now. Super rewarding to give back!!! Mona, can you do a blog about the difference in elastic choices - knitted, braided, non roll, etc? Much thanks! Rebekah W.
