Birthdays & Saving Money on Fabric - Who could ask for more?

Today's my birthday!!

52 ... it's strange. Many times I don't feel like I'm 52 - sometimes younger and sometimes older. I'm thankful that I am able to work from home with Bluegrass Stitches business. I am thankful that I have a wonderful husband and two great kids. I'm thankful for my furbabies (2 dogs and a cat). We will celebrate at home tonight with Chinese food and homemade cake.

With it being a new year and having a birthday, I've been thinking about what I want to do with my business, where do I want it to go? I am hoping to get back into designing more quilts - last year was so busy with other things that I wasn't able to do that very much. I'm hoping to be much more intentional with it and share them with you. (Check out my Half Rail Frenzy quilt pattern.)

My business grew quite a bit last year. I'm hoping to continue to add products to my retail site and be able to offer good deals. I know that there are a lot of online quilt shops right now. I'm not necessarily trying to compete with them. I'm offering items that I think people will like - and that I know that I like!!

I plan on sharing some of my favorite tools and tips with you. Is there anything you'd like to see - leave a comment on this post. One of my favorite items I use right all the time is sewing clips. I am not a pinner but I don't mind using clips. They work great especially if you are using an item that shows holes (like leather or vinyl). These clips are a generic version but I've used them and I think they're awesome!

I'm hoping to do more selfish sewing this year, too. I spend all of my sewing time for my business. I want/need to spend have some "fun" sewing time! Just because and just for me!
