Jolly Bar Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop - Week 2 AND a Giveaway!

It's week 2 of the Quilt Along with Fat Quarter shop!

Are you sewing along? Did you make the Jolly Bar 3 Week 1 block? It's a big one - measures 18 1/2" square!  (Make sure you read all the way to the end - I have an exciting giveaway!!)

This week we make the Homecoming block - 2 of them.
I love these fabrics!! The wood grain worked perfectly for the houses!!

  1. I have never tried an iron other than the cheap ones. Is there really a difference in the irons?

    1. I think so. These irons get really hot - more so than cheaper ones. At least the ones I've used.

  2. I love that the Oliso Mini Project Iron has a 360 Degree swivel cord, and a fabric selector. I also love love the precision tip. My current mini iron is to round and drives me crazy. It also does not get hot enough and I understand these do so I would love to own one. I use my smaller ironing station so much more than my ironing board and need a good mini iron for my blocks and detailed projects. I typically use a misting bottle when pressing but I would definitely try the steam option on an Oliso. I have not had the pleasure of using a regular sized Oliso either but I hear they are fantastic.

  19. I like the portability of the mini iron. I also like that it takes less electricity than a standard iron so I can use it in a room of quilters at retreats without blowing a fuse!!
