I'm really enjoying this Jolly Bar 3 sew along - it's the perfect speed for me. I have a lot on my plate, so I don't want to commit to a lot of extra stuff every week. This gives me some "me" sewing time - and I'm going to end up with a gorgeous table runner!

This week's block is "Springtime Bliss" from the Jolly Bar Book 3. This book is an awesome book to have even if you aren't sewing along - gives you a ton of blocks that you can use with either jolly bars or layer cakes.
One thing to mention when you're making these blocks - there can be a lot of scrap. So that you aren't wasting fabric, you can sew another seam 1/2" away from the block seam, and when you cut your block, you'll end up with bonus hst's (see above and below)! You can then use these to make bonus blocks, in quilts, or to make zippered pouches - just to give a few suggestions.
Oh - now for the big news!! I will be having several giveaways during the quilt along!! Last week was an Oliso Mini Iron (check out this post to see who won - will be announced soon)! Some awesome companies are providing some wonderful goodies (Fat Quarter Shop, Oliso, Hobbs Batting, and Glide Thread to name a few).
