I haven't written in so long - I have so much to tell you. However, that will have to wait until another time. Right now, I'm going to share the "Jolly Bar Bakewell" pattern by Fat Quarter Shop. (Note - Fat Quarter Shop provided the fabrics for this post. Some of the links in this post are affiliate links.)
The Jolly Bar Bakewell pattern makes a lap-sized quilt and requires a Jolly Bar and some additional yardage. I used "Early Bird" by Bonnie & Camille for Moda Fabrics. For my neutral color, I used Kona Natural. The border and binding are also from the "Early Bird" line. (You can get a Jolly Bar Bakewell Kit here.)
This pattern's instructions are easy to follow. As I mentioned previously, I am not a fan of cutting (I tend to make mistakes), but if you take your time you'll be set to sew everything together in a flash.
For the backing, I used some lawn fabric from the Bonnie & Camille "Smitten" line that I had on hand.
The quilt finishes at 40.5 x 48.5. If you wanted a larger quilt, you could add a border. Or, you could get 2 jolly bars or use a layer cake and add extra blocks.
What do you think? Will you be making a "Jolly Bar Bakewell" quilt? Let me know. Tag me on Instagram - I'd love to see what you come up with!
